A competitive runner and Colorado native, Amy O’Connell has run everything from 10k’s to 100 mile races in the Rocky Mountains and the Alps. She loves pushing past her limits, but found that she was held back by overtraining injuries from a lack of cross-training. She discovered barre as a way to build strength, prevent injury and improve her running performance. After committing to barre three days a week, she saw her injuries melt away and achieved PR (Personal Record) times in the marathon and 50 mile distance. When Amy was pregnant with her son and unable to complete long-distance runs, she discovered her passion for barre went beyond running. Prior to opening her own Barre Forte studio and joining the Barre Forte team, Amy owned her own social media marketing company and has over 15 years of experience in marketing and business consulting. Now, she loves helping others achieve their personal goals and believes that with hard work, anything is possible.

Katelyn Huston

Katelyn was born and raised in New Hampshire and has spent time in Minneapolis, Boston, and Colorado. She fell in love with working out when she lived in Minneapolis and really found her community of like minded people. When she moved to Colorado she realized that her “work out family” was missing. She knows how important it is for people to have a healthy mind and body and to continue challenging themselves to reach their full potential. She started attending Barre classes in Denver and noticed that there was nothing like it up in the mountains. That’s when the dream of opening her own studio came to life! When she isn’t in the studio she enjoys skiing, hiking, camping, spending time with her husband, and chasing around her twin boys and dog Maggie.

Laura Morrell

Laura took her first Barre Forte class in 2012 and immediately fell in love with the dance/ballet inspiration while focusing on creating toned muscles.  The community at Barre Forte was always warm and welcoming – supporting each other to have fun while working towards personal goals.  This was the exact type of culture that she was looking for in a small fitness studio.  After taking classes for years, the idea of one day opening a studio was becoming a dream so she could share the Barre Forte magic with a new community.  Her friend and business partner Molly made that dream happen in 2020 by opening Barre Forte NoCo in Loveland.  She has a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Colorado at Boulder and she is a certified Barre Forte instructor as well as an ACE certified group fitness instructor.  When she is not at the barre you can find her hanging out with her husband and many cats & dogs, exploring NoCo, or planning their next beach vacation.

Molly Kainuma

Molly was born and raised in Michigan, before relocating from the Midwest to Denver in 2007.  She was always involved in sports and dance – especially loving ballet, soccer, volleyball, and running track.  Forever an athlete at heart, Molly continued to search for new and exciting ways to stay fit after moving to Colorado.

After consistently attending barre classes at Barre Forte Southmoor, she realized her chronic lower back and neck issues were practically resolved.  She also loved that barre was a safe and effective workout throughout her entire pregnancy and was quickly able to return to barre postpartum.  Fast forward 8 years, Molly and Laura decided to become barre certified instructors and bring Barre Forte to Northern Colorado! In her spare time you can find her hiking, camping, and fishing throughout Colorado with her husband and young daughter. In addition to owning and instructing at the studio, Molly works as a zookeeper and has been involved in animal care and conservation for over 17 years.
