NADIA WALKER ARNOLD
CO-FOUNDER, CHIEF BARRE OFFICER, MUSIC MIX MASTER & OWNER, SOUTHMOOR AND HIGHLANDS RANCH CO
Nadia, a Colorado native, began dancing as a toddler and spent her formative years enjoying ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, and hip hop classes. Later, Nadia applied her dance training and athleticism to competitive cheer-leading and gymnastics. In her early twenties, she performed in a local burlesque troop and fell in love with the art. Nadia also spent 10 years as a make-up artist and hair stylist, working with television personalities and print models. Ever the entrepreneur, Nadia is excited to be a part of Barre Forte, where she combines her love for fitness, dance and business. When Nadia is not at Barre Forte, she enjoys traveling and musical theater (really!), and spending time with her daughter, who is a state champion gymnast and competitive diver.
CMO, BARRE FORTE & CO-OWNER, LOHI, DENVER COA competitive runner and Colorado native, Amy O’Connell has run everything from 10k’s to 100 mile races in the Rocky Mountains and the Alps. She loves pushing past her limits, but found that she was held back by overtraining injuries from a lack of cross-training. She discovered barre as a way to build strength, prevent injury and improve her running performance. After committing to barre three days a week, she saw her injuries melt away and achieved PR (Personal Record) times in the marathon and 50 mile distance. When Amy was pregnant with her son and unable to complete long-distance runs, she discovered her passion for barre went beyond running. Barre offers something for the athlete in all of us, with incredible and impactful results. She loves helping others achieve their fitness goals and believes that with hard work, anything is possible.
CFO, BARRE FORTE & CO-OWNER, LOHI, DENVER COA Colorado native, Sarah Brittenham has fostered a love of athletics and the outdoors since childhood. In college, Sarah developed a passion for running and all things fitness. After moving to Denver, she was able to combine her love of running and the outdoors and became an avid trail runner, competing in ultra races of all distances, including the esteemed Leadville Trail 100. She took her first barre class in 2009 and immediately fell in love – it was the first cross training workout that truly transformed her body while keeping her injury-free for races. During her first visit to a Barre Forte studio she knew she had found something special; a kick-ass workout and an amazing community of women pushing each other to meet their best.

CO-OWNER, WESTMINSTER COAs a Colorado native, Shelley enjoys being in nature and the mountain summers. She got her BS in Biology forever ago and enjoys working in the Holistic Fields. Shelley is married with two beautiful teenage daughters. She had danced as a young girl and early in 2012 fell back in love when she took her first barre class. She loved the music, how it’s low impact, and the results. After years of sports, running, and high impact activities, her body was ready for barre. She was certified as a teacher that same year and has been teaching ever since. It has always been a dream to own a studio and when the opportunity presented itself she took the leap with her close friend Chanda. Watching women become strong and confident through barre is the main reason she loves teaching so much. Barre brings such a supportive community to women and their stories always warm her heart. Her goal is to create an atmosphere that not only supports women in the studio, but outside the studio.
CO-OWNER, WESTMINSTER COChanda was born and raised in southern CA. She moved to Colorado in 2002 to attend graduate school and decided to stay. Chanda took her first barre class many years ago. What began as a place to work out, has become a huge part of her life. She fell in love with the work out like so many people do, but it was the positive supportive community that propelled her into owning a studio. She enjoys teaching, connecting with and learning from this wonderful community and is thrilled to have this opportunity. Chanda holds a Masters degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Dance/Movement Therapy. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado and maintains a small private practice. She is also a certified Pilates instructor and has taught for 20 years. Chanda danced most of her life and performed professionally for the Walt Disney Company for 5 years. She strives to be authentic, fearless, and honest without taking herself too seriously.
